CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Our goal is for children to feel warmly welcomed, to hear the Good News of Jesus and to make new friends every time they are at St. Peter's. We want our nurseries and classrooms to be safe and caring places where even our littlest ones begin to sense the love of Jesus through our teachers and caregivers.

WHEN WE MEET:

Sunday Morning: Every Sunday during the 9:15am service, our children, age 4 - 5th  Grade, are invited to participate in Children’s Chapel, led by our Youth and Children’s  Minister. Children will be escorted out of the Sanctuary following the readings and will  return during announcements, to partake in Holy Communion with their families.

Wednesday Evening: Our Youth and Children’s formation has moved to Wednesday  Evenings! We invite ALL of our families to join us for a home-cooked meal from  5:30-6pm in Tucker Hall. At 6pm, we will dismiss our children and youth to their evening  classes from 6-7:15pm. Our Preschool class is for students from age 3 through Kindergarten. Our Elementary class is open for all students in 1st - 5th Grade.

PROVIDING A SAFE PLACE

Our preschool room is located in Shelton Hall next to the nursery. It is always staffed by  one or two caregivers. Classes are taught by church members. All adults have  completed a background check and our Diocese SafeGuard training. Parents may pick up their children in the room or on the playground at 7:15pm.

PROVIDING A CHRISTIAN PLACE

Our Pre-K and K children are full of questions about God! A Bible lesson and learning  activities help the children grow in their knowledge and love of Christ. The children  begin their class with a Bible story, a teacher led discussion and follow up questions. A  craft is provided that serves as a visual reminder of the Bible story. Children’s church is  offered during both worship services. The time includes a brief Bible lesson time from  Kids’ Quest, a memory program of catechism questions and answers, and playtime.
